A NEW CONSCIOUSNESS IS EMERGING
ON OUR PLANET
The CURRENT PLANETARY CRISIS is forcing the human species to choose between extinction and transformation. The tension of these opposing possibilities is placing us on the razor's edge of choice. On the one side, we are awakening to the vastness of who we are and the profound sacredness of our place in the universe. On the other side, our fear and lack of consciousness are pulling us into rigid, exclusive and violent solutions.
Yet Deeper Orders of Reality are Emerging Out of This Crisis.
Each seminar will explore how these DEEPER ORDERS are working with the individual to shift our perspective and shape our future. |

I. THE POWER OF ONE
The Power of One lies in discovering our particular uniqueness —our key to deeper orders of reality.
In spite of the fact that Western culture has differentiated the individual from the group and developed the principles of equality, justice and freedom, the individual is still trapped in old mythologies that limit our ability to live life fully. We will explore these mythologies as well as the conscious and unconscious techniques that have been employed to ensure their perpetuation. We will also explore the empowering new mythologies that are emerging out of unique individual experience and various fields of inquiry, including science.
When a human society reaches the limits of its stability, it becomes supersensitive and is highly responsive to the smallest fluctuation. Then the system responds even to subtle changes in values, beliefs, worldviews, and aspirations. — Ervin Laszlo
Our planetary society can no longer maintain social structures based on the limited consciousness of the past. A radical shift in perspective is needed--and this is precisely what is taking place. A new consciousness is emerging. Millions of people all over the world who are experiencing deeper orders of reality are changing the consciousness on this planet. The creative influence of each of us is particularly powerful during these times of instability.

II. DREAMS, VISIONS AND THE HUMAN MIND
Our health and well-being require that we value our dreams, our life stories, our visions, and our feelings as much as we value our ability to think about ideas.
The language of picture, symbol, and metaphor is our first language, the "native" language of the human species. Not only does this language reflect our relationship to the outer world, but it also reflects our unique relationship to deeper orders of reality: it is the living fiber that connects us to multidimensional worlds. It is the language of the sensuous world, the body, instinct, feeling, memory, dream and vision. And it is the language of myth — the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and our place in the universe. Dreams, visions and myths shift our perspective, provide new modes of resolving problems, and trigger neurological mechanisms in the brain that open us to the most profound and expansive potentials of the human mind.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Valuing our life stories
- Deconstructing cultural attitudes toward dreams and visions
- Igniting ordinarily buried dimensions of existence and experience
- Understanding dreams and visions as our evolutionary heritage
- New scientific insights on health, well-being and the human mind

III. WHY DEATH WON'T GO AWAY
Sooner or later we all must face what we fear most: the death of someone we love.
Our attitude toward death is our cultural inheritance from a world that has closed itself off from other dimensions of reality. When someone we love dies, we are devastated because we experience absence from the material world as a total loss. This cultural belief about death as the end of all that we have ever known and loved affects every aspect of our lives. When we limit our vision to the boundaries of this material reality, we are not able to live our lives fully and we become vulnerable to unbearable sorrow, indifference, depression, addiction, violence, and fanaticism. The consequences of this limited vision now threaten our existence. Our present belief about death is symbolic of our limited vision of ourselves and our ability to create a sustainable future. Yet, in the midst of this crisis, a new consciousness is being born on this planet. The core aspect of this consciousness was known in the ancient world and in most indigenous cultures: to be initiated into Life one must be initiated into the Mystery of Death. Just as birth is the manifestation of life in this dimension, death is the dynamic process of birth into another dimension. Birth and death are the primary polarities of life, the inseparably intertwined force of life.
HIGHLIGHTS
- How our view of death affects our lives
- How a limited view of self contributes to the planetary crisis
- Experiencing deeper orders of reality through the Mystery of Death
- Understanding dreams, visions and feelings as valuable modes of communication
- New scientific insights on memory/consciousness as eternal, living and evolving

| IV. THE SHAMANIC ROOTS OF WESTERN CULTURE
When a culture reaches the limits of its stability and life itself is threatened, there is a crucial window of opportunity for that society to re-member the roots of its cultural development.
Traditionally, the shaman's role was to be in tune with the creative principles of the universe. We return to this early period of our development not to recapture it as a way of life for us today but, rather, to ignite these principles within ourselves. The shamans stayed in tune with these principles through the dreaming, symbolic, visionary mind that is sensitive to multidimensional worlds and nonphysical realities. It is these principles with which we need to realign ourselves so that we can create a sustainable world.
[T]he hallmark of a successful, long-lived civilization may be the ability to achieve a lasting peace among the several brain components. —Carl Sagan
The journey back to our shamanic roots to ignite these creative principles within our modern, rational consciousness is radically creative because it allows the mind to experience its own wholeness. And it is only out of this wholeness that we can awaken to the vastness of who we are and realize the profound sacredness of our place in the universe.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Shaman's Way: experiencing multidimensional worlds and nonphysical realities
- Rituals to maintain connection to the Source
- Rational mind meets visionary mind on sacred ground
- The Power of One to ignite shamanic principles in self and other

V. THE DREAM THAT WOULDN'T DIE
